Job Description:We are seeking an Application Management Advisor to join our energetic , fast - paced environment.This position is responsible for building , maintaining and sustaining high availability Application environments , including assessment and implementation of new technologies. Monitors and maintain applications and restores services for end users. Analyzes software and hardware problems and coordinates workable solutions. Performs system software upgrades including planning and scheduling , coordination and deploying. Ensures availability and performance of application systems through proactive as well as reactive analysis and maintenance. Will work closely with Development , Automation / Configuration Management and testing teams , as well as various shared services group s , in order to maintain the application and its interconnectivities.Principal Accountabilities:Supports business - critical production IT systems / applications with responsibilities to include management and resolution of incidents , analysis and prevention of root cause , and the launch of new code into production. Coordinate activities of cross - functional teams within I / T and the business to troubleshoot , isolate and correct issues impacting Sales & amp amp Operational Planning segment of the Dell Supply chain process. Assist in change deployment activities and post implementation testing efforts.Responsible for providing technical support for Sales and Operational Planning applications used within Dell environment. This job is on shift basis 5 days a week. May require to work on weekend based on need. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of application programming and design to analyze and isolate issues. Applies knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to highly complex problems.Remedy Trouble Ticket Management - Respond to trouble tickets within assigned Remedy queues , then isolating and correcting systems issues in an effort to restore service as quickly as possible. This entails proactive monitoring of assigned applications and taking appropriate action to avoid issues before they impact Dell manufacturing. Communicates status of incidents with users in a timely manner and maintains a positive relationship with business partnersCrisis Management - During crisis conditions , the Application Management Advisor will be called upon to act in the role of problem facilitator to drive cross functional efforts of various teams toward issue resolution. They must be able to interface with other support organizations within and outside of IT , as well as provide a clear channel of communications with business partners during and after the crisis to foster a positive business relationship.Knowledge Management - Participate in development and documentation of key support information and resolution steps to ensure knowledge is shared consistently across all support teams. Works on programs of diverse scope where troubleshooting and problem resolution require solid understanding of applications and interfaces.Customer Interface - Interact regularly with global team members , cross - functional I / T , and business users to understand customer needs. Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills to present a positive image of the support organization. Business knowledge - Quickly develop a thorough understanding of Dell' s manufacturing environment , the assigned set of applications , and the underlying business processes. Thorough understanding of key business drivers and ability to communicate and translate those needs to technical solutions.
